Coastguard donates night rescue gear.jpg "Murray Dix lifeguard(copy)") Local life savers are excited after the donation of night rescue equipment to the Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service recently.Powercraft Officer Murray Dix was pleased to receive the equipment, which will be included in the after-hours rescue kit used on the services Sea Rider rescue boat. Dix, a recent NZ Search and Rescue Award winner was excited to be able to learn how to use the equipment and wanted to say a huge thanks to Coastguard Auckland for its kind donation. The donated equipment included Night Vision Goggles, extra boat towing ropes, jumper leads and a stretcher. - PHOTO/Supplied |
