Big Birthday at the TavernCornerstone Roots are an enduring entity within the New Zealand music industry, from their humble beginnings in Raglan to the revered and respected band they are today.
The band possess a list of admirable achievements coupled with the fact they have played along side some of the biggest named reggae artists in the world: Burning Spear, Toots and the Maytals, Sly n Robbie, Jimmy Cliff and more recently supported The Original Wailers from the iconic and legendary Bob Marley fame. Now they bring again their unique Kiwi sound to the Tavern. Joining them are Three Houses Down, another group synonymous with the roots-rock-reggae movement in New Zealand and the Pacific for almost a decade. Both artists put a unique spin on their chosen genre and deliver an intense live show that has been honed over years of touring in New Zealand and abroad – all killer no filler. Along with a guest DJ, grab this opportunity to experience these two stalwarts of roots music as they join forces at Mangawhai Tavern, Saturday May 31, Queens Birthday weekend. Doors open at 7pm. This is not just a show, it’s an event! |
