Boys go ferry fishingTwo van loads of Rodney College students enjoyed a fantastic day out fishing recently with North Rodney Blue Light Ventures, joining others from Whangarei, Hibiscus Coast, Auckland and South Auckland aboard a Sealink ferry anchored in the Hauraki Gulf.
The event was put on to coincide with the Auckland Fishing Classic being held at Wynyard wharf. Television personality and fishing guru Graeme Sinclair was on hand during the two-and-a-half hours of fishing. The boys enjoyed his expert knowledge and took photo opportunities. Blue Light were able to drive on board the ferry with their trailer and provide a sausage sizzle and prizes. Rods and bait were supplied although some chose to bring their own. “The weather conditions could not have been more perfect!” said Shane Gould of North Rodney Blue Light, based in Wellsford. “All the boys enjoyed themselves, especially the combo at McDonalds afterwards.” The event was sponsored by Sealink Ferries, Auckland Waterfront and Blue Light. |
