ANZ backs Kaiwaka netballKaiwaka Netball Club is celebrating new netball gear they have received thanks to ANZ funding, allowing them to take their training to the next level this season.
Kaiwaka Sports Association manager Cheryl Anderson applied to the ANZ Courtside grant scheme, saying Kaiwaka is a small rural community that doesn’t have the sporting opportunities that big cities can provide. However, the Kaiwaka Sports Complex is a comprehensive sporting facility that certainly has the demand and enthusiasm from the locals for sporting events but just lacks the funds to carry them out. The new gear will help netballers from Kaiwaka Netball Club to train to the best of their abilities and step on court with confidence. “Our locals love playing netball! Says Cheryl. “The Kaiwaka Sports Association runs Fast Five Netball every year and over 100 players participate. The team gear provided by ANZ Courtside will be put to very good use, and we greatly appreciate ANZ's support of netball at the grassroots level," says Cheryl. ANZ has given more than $700,000 in assistance to netball communities across the country to help them achieve their netball aspirations. “We are proud to support Kiwi netballers at every level, from the grassroots players right up to the elite athletes in the ANZ Premiership,” says ANZ Head of Sponsorship Sue McGregor. “We know that having the support of someone on your team, backing you all the way can make a massive difference in achieving your netball goals. “We’re delighted to be on Kaiwaka Netball Club‘s team and to be providing them with this new gear. We hope players feel supported to be the best they can be and play with confidence.” Applications to get ANZ On Your Team are still open. To apply visit anzcourtside.co.nz and say why having ANZ on your team will make a difference this season. Kaiwaka netballers are already training in their new bibs. |
