Club fundraisers have a ball

 

The 2014 MBR Board Riders Ball went off with a bang recently with over 150 people dancing at the Mangawhai Surf Club till the early hours, all in the name of fundraising for the Club and Sustainable Coastlines.

The evening started off with some soulful acoustic music from lo-cal artists Annaree Pe-ters and Isaac Hunter, followed up by some ex-cellent tunes from Auck-land soul band The Soul Pit Orchestra.

Then for some for-malities, with guest speaker Sam Judd from Sustainable Coastlines talking about some of the projects he and his team are working on at the moment. MBR is look-ing to make a donation to Sustainable Coastlines in the near future. Check them out at sustainable-

Awards for the evening included Best Dressed FemaleMarie Stewart, Best Dressed Male John Drucker, and Beat Dressed CoupleRo-chelle Flavell and Alex Tidyman. Also at this years ball MBR decided to create a new award for an outstanding member of the club called the M-BRO Award. This years recipient was Eden Wors-fold for both his contin-ued solid performances in Club contests as well as his commitment to the club over the years.

After the bands had finished Auckland DJ Downtown Brown from the Sunshine Sound Sys-tem mixed up some beats for the crowd, and every-one had a great time. In between dancing and canape's, guests took full advantage of the photo

booth on offer with some memorable shots being taken on the night.
