Noise control stretched over summer
Locating a noise control officer in Mangawhai over the Christmas and New Year holiday period is under consideration by the Kaipara District Council.
However according to the council’s general manager regulatory, Fran Mikulicic, budget constraints may prevent this happening over the 2014/2015 holiday period.

Museum just around the corner
The large number of cars parked outside the museum every day is an indication that inside a large team of people is working extremely hard to make sure the museum is ready for its community day opening on December 6.
Scrub fire has positive outcome
Two careless teenagers were found responsible for starting a fire in scrubland at Mangawhai Heads recently.
Around noon on November 10, eight fire appliances collecting sea water were called to the scene.

In the last issue of Mangawhai Focus, I listed the names of the members of the Com-munity Advisory Panel who were assisting Council with decision-making with respect to the Mangawhai Commu-nity Wastewater Scheme. The Scheme is coping well with current levels of waste, and has capacity to take on many more connections.
