Held at Rouse Farm, Hukerenui, participating patrols needed to provide their own shelter, food and toilet facilities. Eight Northland troops presented their skills to a panel who judged on documentation, food, pioneering skills, camp structure, general scouting knowledge and ability to work together. Led by Hamish Ferguson, the young group had an impressive win by 85 points, taking home the prized Kudu horns, a very prestigious Scouting trophy. A notable individual award went to Hamish for his leadership skills. “We are so very proud of our patrol given that we have only been a troop for one year,” said scout leader Jenny Webb. “This is an amazing achievement for our Scouts. As leaders we could not be more proud.” Scouts that participated were Hamish Ferguson (patrol leader), Tyler Young (assistant patrol leader), Neitana Blissett, Jade Tornquist, Toni Tornquist and Liam Leslie-Sutton. |
