It was all-fright on the night!.jpg "SPOOKY! Lillie McCarthy won best girl costume, and a family pass to Sheepworld.") A hair-raising horde of ghosts, goblins and ghouls descended on the Kaiwaka Sports Complex last week for the Sports Association's annual Fright Night. Over 200 people attended making this the most successful Fright Night ever!For the first time, free facepainting was available to kids. Thanks to professional make-up artists Jacinta Driver and Missy Tilby, children could choose a gory gash, scary scar or maybe something a little more traditional. Following a lolly scramble and games, the 'haunted house' was opened – the downstairs changing rooms transformed into a spooky walk designed to scare the yell out of everyone. Judging by the screams, the highlight was the bloodsoaked maniac with the chainsaw! The evening wound up with supper where people had put so much effort into their halloween-inspired plates – chocolate spiders, bloodshot eyeball eggs, cobweb cupcakes, deadman finger sandwiches and more! Many thanks to all the helpers, especially Mark Ottaway who did such as fabulous job decorating the haunted house.
