It toastmasters for you?Would you like to improve your speaking and leadership skills and confidence? Then Toastmasters could be for you! Toastmasters is an international organisation of long standing and most questions can be answered by perusing the Toastmasters website toastmasters.org. But it really is a great way to learn and develop. Each person can progress at a pace that suits them in a very safe and supportive learning environment and fun as well. Toastmasters will teach you how to make your own presentations more interesting through confidence gained by watching and listening to others, and how to present yourself in both one-on-one and group situations. Wayne Freeth is a newcomer to the area and is trying to generate interest in starting and developing a new club in the Kaiwaka/Mangawhai Area. Twenty members are required to form a club. There are usually two meetings per month and costs are quite low especially when one considers what can be gained. “I have found it one of the best professional development activities I have ever been involved in,” says Wayne. A former teacher and school principal, Wayne knows first hand the value of addressing a large gathering with clarity and confidence. He has been a member for over 25 years and is happy to answer any queries. n To register interest or know more, Wayne is just a phone call away.
