‘Birdies’, ‘eagles’ and quite likely a whole lot of ‘bogeys’ were scored at a golf fundraiser held recently at Mangawhai’s Golf Club on September 17.
Mangawhai Beach School’s annual Ambrose golf tournament attracted a range of golfers from the experienced to those who just ‘putted’ along for the fun, making the event a fundraising success MBS deputy principal Emma Grieve says.
“We raised over $6000 for our amazing school – think of the resources the school can access with that!”
Although the field was ‘more serious’ Grieve says than previous years, the teams were all in good spirits and cheering and laughter echoed constantly across the course.
“I’m sure a lot of fun was had by all!” she says. “Congratulations to all the winners on the day… and a special thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and to the golf club for their support. These events cannot run without your contribution.”
