Success still a rush for coffee company(copy1).jpg "rush(story)(copy1)") Local company Rush Coffee has won a gold medal at the recent New Zealand Coffee Awards held at the Altura Coffee Company on Auckland’s North Shore, and attended by a record number of roasters.Their popular Rush Espresso blend has now won a total of four gold medals, two silver, and a bronze in just five years at the event. A small, boutique coffee roastery located just outside of Mangawhai, Rush Coffee was founded in 2006 by Hayden and Emma Prujean. Joined by daughter Betsy in 2012, it’s now a true local family business. In addition to a loyal local customer base, they ship coffee daily around the country. Despite their regular success, Hayden says he is still ‘blown away’ by the results. “When we first started Rush Coffee we had no idea what to expect. The overwhelming local support is what really keeps us going, and enables us to continue to do what we love; roasting and drinking coffee!” Rush’s other blends have also not gone unnoticed by awards judges with their Organic Rush picking up three silver medals and their Zingaro blend collecting its first bronze this year.
