Impressive medal haul for Northland kenpo

Students were aged from 6-18 years of age and for some it was the first time at the event.

All had the opportunity to soak up the highly competitive atmosphere and meet students from other places.

Considerable out-of-class time was devoted to perfecting skill sets (such as spar-ring and self-defence) needed for the various levels and grades.

Competition events are based on age, grade and in the case of sparring, height and gender.

A dedicated Northland team took home a total of 35 medals.
