Master chefs in the makingEven though food seems to take up a lot of mums time, the multitude of cookery programmes on TV can’t help but open doors to new taste delights and combinations to make meals healthy and fun.
Mangawhai Kindergarten recently held a cooking demonstration at the kindergarten. The fundraiser was supported by Nescafe who provided some of their specialist coffees which were used to advertise the event and given as gifts at the end of the evening. Kris Malcom from Harvest Café, and assistant Laura (pictured) kindly donated their time and expertise, demonstrating the preparation of a delicious ravioli filled with spinach, pine nuts and ricotta, which was enjoyed along with a glass of local Lochiel wine. Kris has a wide range of culinary skills, many of them learnt overseas. A fantastic evening was well attended and it is hoped to be repeated again soon. |
