Art director wanted for Waipu extravaganzaThe Art n Tartan Wearable Art Awards have become a much-enjoyed annual event in the district, providing a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to exercise their creativity in the creation of art works.
Others support a great entertainment experience with their performance talents, helping to weave the production into a spectacular extravaganza. This year in July the show was presented in Waipu’s new Celtic Barn, a huge step up in audience size and staging. Helen Frances, director the show for the past four years, created stunning and memorable performances honouring the time and effort put into the creation of the art works. After her huge five year contribution, Helen has decided it is time to step down from her role as director and enjoy a well earned break. Helen says producing such a show engages many people in the community, around 60 volunteers, and is a great way to get to know more people in the district and be part of a team The Art n Tartan production team is looking for people to fill some key production team roles. Keen contributors would be organisers or interested in all aspects of developing stage performances. Roles include artistic director, awards night and competition manager (plus judges liaison), catering manager, choreographer, decorator, dressing room manager, performer manager, production manager, props and wardrobe and stage manager, and people with publicity experience. All help is welcomed. If interested please email Mo Petit at mo.petit@clear.net.nz. |
