Builder hangs up his hammerAfter a lifetime working tirelessly as a builder and then director of Brogan Builders, Kelvin James has retired.
Kelvin left school at the age of 15 and went straight to work for Derry Brogan, the original proprietor of Brogan Builders, working from their Maungaturoto base. After Derry retired, Kelvin and Grant eager carried on the business together for the next 32 years building all classes from light commercial to architecturally designed homes. A farewell was held recently at the Maungaturoto Fire Brigade, which was well attended by staff, suppliers and clients from over the years. “it wasn’t a bad pastime, but i’m looking forward to doing a bit more fishing and a bit less work,” said Kelvin. Grant eager, who has been Kelvin’s business partner for over three decades remains at the helm, continuing to deliver the outstanding workmanship and master build quality that Brogan Builders has become well known for. |
