Set net rules need explaining to some

This time of year, as the weather slowly but surely warms up, we are seeing a rise in the number of people out targeting mullet and flounder in the Mangawhai area.  Our local Honorary Fisheries Officers (HFO) have found a number of nets left high and dry, as well as nets that are breaking the rules by covering off more than a quarter of the waterways in which they are set.
 

Mixed hockey makes final

The Rodney College hockey team traveled to the South Island Mixed Tournament in Ashburton September 2-6, winning their pool and coming second out of 10 teams.
